UJIMA Community Services - One Church, One Child of Washington State, Inc.
Welcome to
One Church, One Child of Washington State
doing business as
UJIMA Community Services (OCOC/UJIMA)

The focus of UJIMA ("collective work and responsibility" for our children) Community Services is our collective work, implemented and accomplished within our communities because our children are our collective responsibility.

The primary vehicle utilized is our African American historical "gathering place", the church. Historically, the church has provided leadership in the African American community and OCOC/UJIMA is proficient with this vehicle because of our close and lasting relationship (through One Church, One Child of Washington State) with the various African American denominations and African American churches in our target communities.

As the primary recruitment organization for African American families and church support for our children, the efforts and motivation of UJIMA Community Services is our children and the families who care for them. We not only offer recruitment of appropriate families - but we also offer training and support and you will be given tools to start you on the road to assisting us in Bringing Our Children Home.

UJIMA Community Services is a Washington State licensed placement agency which works primarily in King, Snohomish, and Pierce Counties and specializes in recruitment, training, and licensing of families for foster care, adoption, and kinship care of African American children in Washington State.

Each and every UJIMA staff member is ready, able and waiting  to help you add smiles to the faces of our children.
